Purpose
The Calaveras Transparency Project organizes public records by topic so visitors can move from a summary to the underlying request, agency response, source document, and relevant public meeting record.
What the project is not
This is not an official Calaveras County website and it is not operated by the County, the Sheriff’s Office, an incorporated city, a special district, or a records vendor. The archive is designed as an independent research and public-access project.
Editorial standard
Published material should distinguish verified facts, official statements, public records, analysis, and open questions. When records conflict or do not answer a question, the archive should say so.
Source standard
Important factual claims should be traceable to an official record whenever possible. Summaries are reading aids, not substitutes for the source documents.
